Hong Kong Express Part 1

Night view of central of HK captured from HKCEC area

This is my first time to HK, but i do not feel strange about this area at all, maybe because i watch too much of HK drama series. LOL

Once i reached to HK international airport, i feel that KLIA is a small airport, because there have 80 Gates and the airport have a high traffic. Besides HK have a very system and clear directory board to direct you where you wanna go, so you will not missing any where (good for a backpacker).

Airport Express Train Ticket

HKIA is far from city, so we (my colleague and I) take a train to the town. The ticket price is quite reasonable, HKD 210.00 for 3 perosons. which is about MYR35.00. From HKIA to the city, it tooks about 20 minutes.

The main reason i went to HK is to visit Infocomm Asia 2008 which is held at HKCEC (Hong Kong Concention and Exhibition Centre). I don wanna talk too much about this, coz it will make the reader boring, just look some of the sneak peak picture, it will tells you what is my work about...

During the mid of exhibition, i go out from the HKCEC, the weather here is so good (about 15 Celcius). I walk around the HKCEC and take some picture of Victoria Harbour, and Kowloon island.

On the second day in Hong Kong, i take a ferry to Kowloon where the shopping paradise located. Kowloon and Hong Kong Island is split by Victoria Harbour. Therefore we can enjoy stunning panaromic view of the surrounding harbour.

Kowloon is a shopping paradise, a lot of 5-star hotels and shopping centres located in this area. At Kowloon, we can shop from the world leading luxurious brand like LV, Fendi, D&G AX e.t.c to pirated LV, Fendi e.t.c. (haha). Unfortunately, i cannot manage to explore everything out. I only manage to go Harbour City. Harbour City is the largest shopping centre in Hong Kong and this is the place we can find those international luxurious brand. When i am doing my window shopping, i found out everything are expensive compare with KL. So this is the first time i travel oversea and did not buy anything. But i believe if i can go to Temple Street Night Market in You Ma Tei and Ladies' Market in Mong kok, for sure i will back to KL with few pack of clothes. Haha.

I felt that i am in Malaysia, because i saw a mosque in Hong Kong located beside the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station

Another place i have visited is Avenue of Stars. Avenue of Stars is a place to pay tribute to the singer and actor from Hong Kong.

Time goes fast, at the night time, i went for a drink with my colleague at Lan Kwai Fong. Here is where you can find a lot of bars, pubs, and clubs, and most of them are open till 3am , so next time you travel to Hong Kong, you will feel boring at night. I go there on weekdays, so i thought there will not have much people, but it suprises me, all the clubs there is super happening, maybe it is because majority there are tourist.

That's all the places i went for this two days trip. Overall Hong Kong is a very good place to tour especially year end (you will not sweat even you walk under the sun) but must bring a lot of cash to here , because the life expenses here is quite high (one normal meal can cost RM20). More then that, Hong Kong have a very good directory, and very convinient public transportation system, so you can travel to Hong Kong by your own arrangement.
